Bellingham Technical College - Buildings J & M
September 25th, 2011
In order to complete the new wood roofs on Buildings ‘J’ and ‘M’ at Bellingham Technical College, the school required a cable lifeline system that would allow for continuous pass through between several permanently attached fall protection anchors. This OSHA-ANSI compliant system needed to accommodate four users in the case of fall restraint or two users in the case of fall arrest.
To fulfill the need of the permanent fall protection system, ESG designed an OSHA and ANSI compliant single horizontal lifeline system that traced the perimeter of the building, allowing the user to stay in fall arrest or restraint, without having to disconnect from the line or reconnect to it. The line was supported by several custom fabricated anchor points that were permanently attached to the wood roof using screws and wood blocking supports.
The continuous fall protection system was installed by a factory trained certified installer who, in turn, provided training to the end users on the use, maintenance, and warranty requirements for the custom system.
